If your goal is to become a pilot for an Airline you will need your Airline Transport Pilot rating. to attain this rating you will need 1500 hours of flight time. Some achieve this in as little as 2 years by getting their commercial license and either instructing at a flight school or flying smaller airplanes for tours or similar. This is no small undertaking!

The requirements for a pilot’s license include a medical certificate, a flight test, and a written test. The medical certificate is a requirement in all countries. The flight test is also a requirement in most countries. The written test is a requirement in some countries. For the US all will be required plus minimum hours for each rating along the way to test. The main  ratings on the path to ATP include Private Pilot, Private Instrument Pilot, Commercial and Commercial Multi-engine.
